What a maternity session feels like

Maternity sessions are calm, flattering, and built around how you actually feel that week. They can be just for you, for you and your partner, or include older kids so the whole family is in the gallery before the newest one arrives.

I direct the parts that are hard to guess at: where your hands go, how to hold your shoulders, which angle makes the bump read clearly. You are never left standing in a field working it out on your own.

Mount Charleston pines, Red Rock Canyon, the quieter green spaces around Floyd Lamb Park, and the San Diego coast all photograph beautifully for maternity. We choose one that keeps the walking short and the light soft. Every session includes planning help, careful editing, and a private online gallery.

Maternity photography questions

When should we schedule maternity photos?
Most clients book between 28 and 34 weeks. That is far enough along for the bump to read clearly in a photograph, and early enough that walking and standing are still comfortable. If you are further along than that, reach out anyway and we will work with the time you have.

What should I wear for maternity photos?
Fitted pieces show the shape best, and long flowing fabric photographs beautifully in wind and warm light. Simple textures and soft earth tones sit well against both the desert and the coast. Bring a second look if you want range, and tell me what you actually feel good in.

Can my partner and older kids be in the photos?
Yes, and they often make the best frames. An older sibling with their hands on the bump is one of the images people are gladdest to have later. We can still do part of the session with just you.

Where is the best place for maternity photos in Las Vegas?
Mount Charleston in the warmer months, when the pines stay cool and the light comes through sideways at the end of the day. Red Rock Canyon and the quieter green spaces around Floyd Lamb Park work year round. A studio session is the reliable answer when the weather will not cooperate.

Will the session be uncomfortable?
It should not be. I keep the walking short, build in somewhere to sit, and schedule around the light rather than leaving you standing in the heat. Say the word at any point and we stop for a minute.

When will we get our photos?
For most sessions your finished gallery is delivered within 72 hours through a private online gallery.
