How to prepare your family for a mini session
Give yourself enough time to arrive without rushing, especially if you have children. A calm start helps everyone settle in and gives us more room to make useful photographs. Choose coordinated colors rather than identical outfits, empty your pockets, and bring only the small essentials your family may need.
Keep outfits comfortable
Earth tones, soft neutrals, denim, and one or two richer colors photograph beautifully around Las Vegas. Avoid tiny high-contrast patterns and anything that needs constant adjusting. Most importantly, choose clothes your children can comfortably move in. If a child dislikes an outfit at home, the location will not magically improve it. Tiny fashion mutiny is still mutiny.
Let children move
You do not need to practice smiles or warn your kids to behave perfectly. I may ask your family to walk, squeeze together, race, or look at one another. Those small prompts give children something real to do and help me photograph genuine expressions. If we need to move quickly, I will. If a child needs a brief reset, that is normal too.
Tell your photographer what matters most
Tell me about one or two priorities before the session, such as a clean family portrait for holiday cards, individual photos of each child, or an updated picture for grandparents. A focused list helps me protect the photographs you care about most while leaving room for the unplanned moments that often become favorites.
