Photoshop Friday: Episode 2 - Layers!

So I have been using Photoshop for over 2 decades and one of the the things I see a lot are people who use it, or want to use it for simple projects, graphics, portraits, and other creative avenues. I have showed a LOT of people some simple things about this powerful tool that helps them. They don't become experts, and I am by no means an expert, I am just a guy who taught himself out of necessity. So I have decided to share what I know, and start a conversation about what we can do together with this power tool.

In this episode we go through Layers, which is what I always thought set Photoshop apart from the rest of the pack. A handful of apps have also added layers, so it tells you how important this idea is. I wanted to cover 3 areas:

  • Organization
  • Adjustments / Corrections
  • Non-Destructive Editing

These are all super important, especially if you want to be able to go back and work with your photos later. I find myself learning a new technique and wanting to go back and apply it to my old images. Since I used layers, I can!
